![]() I tried googling it but I didn't find anything at all related to this. I would be glad if someone could help me solve this. When I close awesome and get back to the command shell where I started it, I can see the following message:īeautiful.load_font: could not get height for 'sans 8'(likely missing font), using 8. I tried changing to the "sky" theme, but I get the same problem. DPI settings in Awesome window manager Ask Question Asked 6 years, 4 months ago Modified 4 years, 7 months ago Viewed 18k times 11 I have a nice new shiny 4k monitor. Instead of the tag numbers on the upper left corner and the date and time on the upper right corner, and the text in the menus, I can see only these rectangles. I have installed Arch Linux in my old notebook, then the xorg display server and awesome as my window manager following the arch linux wiki using the "default" theme, but when I start it using the xinit command, I get small rectangles where the letters and numbers should be (from what I read here: ). However it needs love and only implement a subset of the 300 API functions the AwesomeWM-X11 core provides. I'm really new to Linux in general and to Arch in particular and I'm having problems with some basic things. The new design is better because it uses multiple process (akin to X11<->Awesome<->apps) instead of having the compositor in the same thread as the Lua VM.
